By Peter Nelson

Christmas trees are a staple choice of decoration during the Christmas season. You can either use a real one or an artificial one. Artificial trees are more popular nowadays though because it is easier to acquire and display one and it can be used again and again every year as long as it is properly stored.

You can use the carton it comes with when you purchased for its storage after the holiday season. When you need a new one though, you can buy a Christmas tree box New York instead. Continued usage of the original container it came with may have deteriorated it or it is not big enough for storing the decoration after it has been disassembled.

Storing an artificial tree is not as easy as disassembling it and shoving it back inside the container. There are things that you must do to preserve its quality and beauty for the next time you will be displaying it. Here are some tips to help you in storing them properly for the whole year.

Make sure you fold your tree carefully and properly. Failing to do so and just bunching up the branches may harm the tree on the months that it will be stored. There are trees that are prelit and not properly folding them may damage them and cause a short circuit and it will not be able to light up next time.

These process will let you check if there are remaining ornaments and decorations that you have failed to remove. Do not forget to properly store them as well as they still can be reused as well. Store them in different containers or in one with divisions to prevent them from bumping into each other and damaging themselves while in storage. Wrapping them in bubble wrap will help protect them from weathering and dust.

You need to wrap your tree too. You can use white cloth or buy specifically made for wrapping it and wrap it tightly. Doing so will help you protect it from the various factors that can cause damage to it like moisture, fluctuating temperatures and friction with the container.

When putting it inside the container, do not just shove it in but carefully do so. Be gentle and use a larger one if the original or the current container you have does not fit anymore. Make sure to use a durable one to prevent it being squashed if a heavy object falls on it or someone trips on it.

The location of where you will keep the container is important too. Make sure that it will not easily fall over and be knocked over. Putting it horizontally along a wall will prevent it from being easily tipped over. Areas where it may be subjected to sunlight and moisture must be avoided as well.

Protect it also from possible animal intrusions like from birds and rodents which like to make their homes in artificial trees. If you have followed the tips stated above then you would be able to use your tree for a longer time and save expenses on Christmas decorations. These savings will be of great use in buying other things like food or gifts for your loved ones to celebrate the holiday season.
