Champagne Truffles Make Delicious Recipes

By Jaclyn Hurley

There are certain desserts that automatically make a person think of special occasions. Wedding cakes or cupcakes are expected for marriages. Rich, chocolate desserts are popular for birthdays. Dinner out at an Italian restaurant usually means cheesecake. But when considering an anniversary celebration or even a Valentine's Day delight, there are dozens of delicious recipes for champagne truffles.

Even though there is a type of mushroom that carries the same name, in this case it is not being considered a delicious treat. Instead, we are talking about the unique confectioner's creation designed by Teuscher. This treat is a dark chocolate ganache, rolled in finely dusted powdered sugar. But it is the inside that stands out. The center is a rich, creme infused with Dom Perignon.

Because of its rich and delicate flavors, these desserts have been associated with special occasions warranting first class quality. As expected, however, the price associated with these original creations can be a bit stifling for those with limited cash flow. Thankfully, with the plethora of excellent recipes available to the everyday person, there is no need to dip into personal savings.

Even if a person is not a particularly fantastic cook, there are dozens of recipes that are easy to follow. Doing a specific web search for a user friendly method, it is as easy as typing the words into a search engine with quotation marks around it. Once the search is complete, there are hundreds of options available at the click of a mouse. Take some time to peruse the offerings and select one that best suited to one's experience.

Even though dessert is often forgone due to calories and weight watching, special times often warrant great desserts. While the traditional recipe is always delicious, there are creative twists to make them even better. One such twist is to wrap the warm dark chocolate ball with gold leafing which is edible. The sheets of leafing are so thin that they must be brushed on with a dry makeup brush. But once completed, the results are stunning.

Another tasty option is using a milk chocolate mix instead of dark chocolate. The basic instructions stay the same, however, instead of wrapping the liquored center in a rich, dark ganache it is rolled in liquid milk chocolate. Not only is it a delicate flavor, the color looks like rich caramel. Again, the completed and dried eggs look great in a glass bowl.

For a truly unique experience, a wonderful twist is to make the dessert a classic pink. Instead of using dark or milk, white chocolate is used as the base. After the center is dried, several teaspoons of red colored gelatin is added to the white exterior. The delicate pink color is perfect for that girly-girl.

Celebrations in life should be fun and memorable. No one can resist the lure of a rich, decadent chocolate dessert on a special occasion. By thinking outside of that traditional candy box, one can express the value of the event. Anytime a handmade treat is involved, the memories can last a lifetime.
