Baking cakes and pies are truly rewarding. It is also as easy as can be only when you pay close attention to details. Keep in mind that skills and precision are essential if you do not want to experience baking problems.

Precision measurement is essential in baking a cake. Read the recipe carefully and follow the measurement indicated to a tee. Never leave one out or put in a wrong one as this will only invite disastrous results. As much as possible have all ingredients at room temperature thirty minutes before baking time.

Follow indicated pre-heating requirement. Set the timer at least eight minutes earlier than indicated to give you ample time to extend baking if it falls. Make sure to have your pans greased and floured before being filled with 2/3 of the batter to allow air bubbles to push up and for the cake to grow. If recipe calls for refrigeration, chill as indicated, too.

Decorate your cakes or pies tastefully with icing or frosting. You can always let your imagination go amok when it comes to creative flair. Just make sure it fits the occasion though and remember to put in a dedication when it is meant to be given.
